Obituary of John Charles Price

John Charles Price - August 2, 1960 - July 29, 2024

Surrounded by family, John died on July 29, 2024 at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Monticello, NY on August 2, 1960.  He was the first son born to John and Ruth Price.

John graduated from Monticello High School.  Through the years, he worked at Synflor, Dow Chemical, A Alport and Sons, Schmidt’s Wholesale, and Williamsburg Plumbing.  Throughout his life he enjoyed motocross, hunting, fishing, cooking, photography, and jazz music.  

John married his love, Catherine Ann Davey on January 28, 1990.  They lived in Monticello until retirement in 2021.

Ready for the next adventure, he and Cathy relocated to Tennessee.  They found joy in their new home. 

John was predeceased by his parents John Edward Price and Ruth Ann (Avery) Price.  He is survived by wife Catherine Ann (Davey) Price and his children, Tanya DeSimone (Dan) of Granby, CT, Danielle Price Crawley of Harris, NY, Jennifer Price of NY, John Price of Albany, NY, and Connor Price of Jefferson City, TN. John treasured his grandchildren.  His legacy will be carried on by them; Annette Brown, Michael Price, Brian DeSimone, Jamieson Crawley, Ivy Price, Connor Price and Austin Price.  He is also survived by his siblings Duane, Jim and Kari Price, as well as numerous extended family and friends, all who were there for him throughout his life.  

John will always be remembered.  We will miss him everyday.  His memory will live on in the hearts of all that have loved him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on  Saturday August 17 from 2:00 - 4:00 Pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home.

A Memorial service will be held starting at 3:45pm at the funeral home with Fr. Bob Popora presiding.
