Obituary of Donald W. Jones

Donald W. Jones, a retired truck driver for New Car Carrier and Cloverleaf Transport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Town of Fallsburg. He was 83.
The son of the late Richard Jones and Rosa May Wood Jones, he was born September 3, 1926 in Spring Valley. He was the widow of Charlotte E. Jones, who predeceased him on November 26, 2003.
A veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, he was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Donald's life revolved around his family.
He is survived by two sons: William R. Jones & his wife Sandra of Wurtsboro, and Donald R. Jones & his wife Jean of Grand Prairie, TX; six grandchildren: Christina, Amy, Jamie, Donald Jr., Crystal and Shawn; four great grandchildren: Cammie, Nicole, Richard and Lillian; a sister: Dorothy MacEwan of Thorndike, ME; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on (today) Friday, July 2 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
