Obituary of Michael A. Colavito
REVISED RESCHEDULED
Michael Colavito, a retired welder for the New York City Transit Authority, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home in Monticello.
The son of the late Nicholas Colavito and Concetta Leone Colavito, he was born February 20, 1953 in Brooklyn.
To say that he was the most loving, humorous, down to earth man would be a tremendous understatement. A Man that did not have a bad bone in his body. He would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. His smile and even his awful dad jokes will be terribly missed.
He is survived by his wife Deborah of 47 years, at home; children Darlene and her husband Bruce and Dina, grandchildren Yvonte, Brianna, Kiarra and her husband Chandler, Skyler, and Amber, siblings Louie and wife Carol, Rose and husband Bruno, Nicholas and wife Julie and Peter.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello, with a prayer service starting at approx. 1:30pm with
Fr. Bob Porpora officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the surviving spouse Deborah Colavito.
Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
