Obituary of Susan Bunce

Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Bunce, a cherished woman who left us peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 17, 1959, Susan's life was marked by her vibrant spirit and her love of music, particularly the soulful melodies of Neil Young. An avid concert-goer, she found joy and solace in live music, often attending Bethel Woods performances that filled her life with harmony and happiness.

Susan's commitment to helping others was evident through her tireless fundraising efforts for Alzheimer's research and volunteering at the Museum at Bethel Woods, two causes close to her heart. She dedicated countless hours to both missions, driven by a desire to make a difference and create a little peace in the world.

A beloved member of the White Lake community, Susan was known for her generosity and kindness. She frequently volunteered her time to various local initiatives, always ready to lend a helping hand and uplift those around her. Her passion for community service was matched by her love of pickleball, a sport she enjoyed playing with her close-knit group of girlfriends.

Susan is survived by her two devoted children, Daniel (Stephanie) Bunce, and Christine (Louis, Jr.) Miraglia. She was a proud grandmother to Louis III and Geno, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her ex-husband Brian Bunce, with whom she shared many cherished memories, and her sisters Monica (Gary) Takourian, Cathy Wasserman, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Julius and Clara Szabo of White Lake, whose legacy of love and warmth she carried throughout her life.

Susan's vibrant spirit, dedication to helping others, and love for music and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her kindness and generosity.

Visiting hours will be held at the VanInwegen-Kenn Funeral Home located at 401 Broadway in Monticello, NY on Thursday May 30th  from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Friday, May 31st  from 9 to 9:30am.
