Obituary of Morris S. Berentsen
Morris Sander “Moose” Berentsen of Bloomingburg, the retired owner and operator of Berentsen’s Grocery, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. He was 82.
The son of the late Sander Berentsen and Marie Gunstad Berentsen, he was born May 13, 1941 in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife Emma Wells Berentsen; four sons: Mark (Susan), Todd (Patricia), Brian, and Randy (Kim); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law: Roseann; a cousin: Sallie Wright; and many relatives in Norway.
A graveside service and burial will be held at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery on Saturday, April 13 at 3:00pm.
