Obituary of Barbara Sawtelle

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Barbara McKnight Sawtelle of Montgomery, a former teller at Key Bank, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Garnet Health Medical Cener in Middletown.  She was 85.

The daughter of the late David W. McKnight and Helen Zackow McKnight, she was born August 30, 1938 in New York City.

Barbara loved all her dogs through the years, but PETEY was her life – she missed him every day.  She also missed her lifelong friends that are no longer around.  Barbara fought like a warrior through many battles with cancer.  She enjoyed sharing old stories and had many! -mostly telling about her sister and the rest of the family.  She also loved the visits from her great-grandchildren, especially the surprise visits.

She is survived by her two children: Charles Sawtelle (Jackie) and Nancy Sawtelle (Todd); three grandchildren: Chad, Stephanie (Pat) and Charleigh; three great grandchildren: Hayden, Tony and Julianna; and a sister: Suzanne Reno (Jack).
