Joseph A. Spordone of Wurtsboro, retired from for St. Michael the Archangel Church in Dunedin, FL died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at ORMC - Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 73.
The son of the late John and Angela Spordone, he was born March 5, 1937 in New York City.
A veteran of the United States Navy serving on the Coral Sea, he was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wurtsboro serving as a Eucharistic Minister.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Anne V. Angrisani Spordone, at home; a son: Joseph R. Spordone & his wife Michele of Otisville; and two grandchildren: Jordan and Jillian. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother: Albert Spordone.
Visitation will be held (today) Monday, May 31, 2010 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 1 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
His family would like to express special gratitude to the entire nursing staff at the CCU and PCU at ORMC-Horton Campus for the tremendous care given to Joseph.
