Obituary of Walter Gonsowski
Walter Gonsowski, a retired self-employed auto mechanic, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at his home in Wurtsboro. He was 78.
The son of the late Frank Gonsowski and Carmela Villano Gonsowski, he was born July 16, 1945 in Kearney, NJ.
He is survived by two daughters: Carmella Schoonmaker and Andrea Havener; a stepdaughter: Mary Martinez; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a brother: Frank Gonsowski (Alice); a sister: Joanne Zalewski; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Hattie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with a prayer service starting at 2:45pm. Burial will follow at the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport.
