Palma Ann "Pam" Porpora passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 in New Jersey surrounded by her loved ones. She was a long time resident of Rock Hill, NY, residing in New Jersey with her daughter for the past eight years. The daughter of the late Antonio and Flavia Porpora, she was born on April 13, 1919 in East Haven CT. For over fifty years Pam resided in Rock Hill with her former husband Frank Porpora. Together they were owners of the Dodge Inn Steak House. Pam was a lifelong member of the Rock Hill Fire Dept. and Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was a charter member of St. Peter's Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and involved in numerous community services. If you needed anything, just dial "P" for Pam. She had a wonderful sense of humor and kept a positive attitude no matter what. She could light up a room with her smile. Pam will be missed by everyone whose heart she touched. She is survived by her three children; Rosanne Wise of New Jersey, Anthony Porpora of Rock Hill and Frankie Porpora of Florida; four grandchildren: Julia Ann and Jeff Horner, Anthony and Jennifer Cacciarelli, Marissa and Robert Figurito and Michael Porpora; great grandchildren: Alexa Marie, Jake Cacciarelli; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had four sisters who are all deceased. Visitation will be held at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello on Thursday, May 20 from 2-4 & 6-9pm. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 21 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with her nephew, Fr. Robert Porpora, officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pam's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice. 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
