Obituary of Charles Robert Moore, Jr.

Charles R. Moore, Jr., a lifelong resident of Monticello, passed away at home after a courageous 3-year battle with Cancer on Wednesday, January 3, at the age of 52.

The son of the late Charles R. Moore and Elaine Rundle, he was born on January 23, 1971 in Monticello, NY.

Charles, better known as “Bobby”, worked for County Petroleum out of Ferndale for many years.  However, most people would know him from his job tinting windows out of Immaculate Concepts in Liberty. His exceptional talent and skill gave him the moniker of “Tint Master B”.

Bobby was born and spent most of his life in Monticello, claiming to never want to live anywhere else. However, he did live in Texas, Maryland, and Florida as a child. Even though his life was short, Bobby lived it to the fullest. His passions were cars, motorcycles, and collecting Hot Wheels cars. He loved going to bike week in Daytona, Lake George, and Myrtle Beach and you could always find him planning his next trip. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends and his kids.  Working was truly his passion in life, and he instilled those beliefs in his children. Bobby loved his family tremendously and his children were his greatest accomplishment. Bobby started dating his wife, Nicole, in 1995 and he never would have married anyone else, he always said. He made so many friends throughout his life, and he could always be counted on to help with anything. He loved riding with his friends, and even though he wasn’t an official member of the Bleeding Hearts LEMC, he enjoyed his many rides with them. Bobby was also a member of the local Monticello Elks Lodge #1544 and the Orange County Mustang Club. He was truly one of a kind and will forever be missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Nicole Ziegler; daughter, Ciera Moore; son, Owen Moore; sister, Robin Moore DeRito (Ralph Gandulla); brother, Scott Moore; brothers-in-law, Jason Conklin (Amy) and Edward Wild; sister-in-law, Tina Kiefer (Tim Dexheimer); mother-in-law Theresa Ziegler; nephews: Daniel DeRito, Rhys Conklin, and Howard Kiefer; nieces: Brielle Conklin and Lauren Kiefer. He is also survived by his lifelong friend Seth Cohen who was like a brother to him and Jay Shapiro who was like a father to him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his uncle Tom Moore, stepfather David Leis, brother-in-law Howard Kiefer and father-in-law Gary Ziegler.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 15 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with a memorial service starting at 1:00 pm.
