Scott,
One of my fondest memories was when I was telling you how BA your M203 was. You quickly offered a trade, your 203 for my M4 for the rest of the training evolution. As I slung it around me, I read your cheesy grin... you intentionally didn't tell me the difference in weight. As I'm easily amused we both shared a long laugh through the rest of the day. Thank you, Scott, for sharing a piece of yourself with me. I'll miss you.

I just found out today, and its still a shock to the system. I will always remember your laugh dude, because it was usually breaking a long silence, and always the loudest in the room. No more patrols, no more sandstorms, and no more senior enlisted to tick you off. God Bless you Scott.

I only met Scott Twice and both time he left an impression on me. The first time was at a family reunion in Rowena around 1995, he was around 10 years old and was doing the Macarena dance and he was really good at it. The second time was at another family reunion in 2002, this time he and his cousin Isaac snuck some beers and clearly became intoxicated. He was trying to act normal so that his mom wouldn’t notice but the more he tried the funnier he became. Nelda, these are only two memories of a fine young man and hero, I’m sure you have a million. Hold on to those memories and may God give you the super human strength that you will need to get through this. God bless you cousin.

-Texas family renunion picking up at the San Antonio airport after a surprising delay. The timing after his long airport wait was only from above. Then the road trip to the coleman renunion was a memorable time to spend. We got to know the boy we know as an honorable man.
-Cozumel week with the family
-Trip to DC with the family (wonderful to know family was always together)
-Setting up the first computer and making the return trip the next weekend to fix it. He was an instant pro.
-Scottieeeeee (by Tom), after cutting the grass half-way through then walking away to get some water before a 4th of July party (a real laugher)
-The beautiful smart-ass I always connected with (Jeff).
Tom and Nelda our hearts are breaking and wish we could be there for you, although we know nothing can replace the void you and Rita feel.
God bless!

Dear Tom. Nelda & Rita,
We are shakened and so very sorry to hear of Scott's sudden passing.
We just saw Tom a week ago, and his face lit up with pride and relief when he told us Scott was back home after completing two tours in Iraq.
Although there is nothing we can say that will ease your horrific loss, we wanted you to know that we grieve with you and are thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy at this very difficult time.

Nelda, Scott, and Rita, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I will never forget Scottie. He was always the life of the party at our family reunions! I remember when we were about 12 or 13 years old and he would dance and break dance at our reunions. It was so fun to watch. We will always keep his memory alive. Wish we could be there in your time of need. We love you all and will continue praying for you.
