Obituary of Kurt John Asdal

Kurt John Asdal passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the age of 35. Kurt was born in Middletown, New York to Pam and Cliff Asdal. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1992, where he was a member of the wrestling and soccer teams. From there Kurt enrolled in SUNY Geneseo and received a B.S. in mathematics and ultimately graduated from SUNY Buffalo in 1997 with a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering. After graduation, Kurt worked for Praxair, Inc. in both Buffalo, NY and Trenton, DE. A highly intelligent young man, Kurt became intrigued with trading on Wall Street and found himself in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001. A self taught computer programmer, Kurt then founded his own internet business, before moving to Bellingham, WA to live with his sister, brother-in-law and niece. Kurt then returned home to live with his parents in Wolf Lake, where he worked at Kohl's in Wurtsboro. Kurt is survived by his mother and father, Pam and Cliff Asdal of Wolf Lake, NY; his sisters Tamra Adams and her husband Rob, of Berwyn, PA and Denise Asdal-Valett and her husband Bryan, of Bellingham, WA; nieces Emma and Megan Adams and Samantha Valett; and grandparents Ailie Anderson of Rolla, ND and John and Dorothy Asdal of The Villages, FL. Kurt was a loving son, brother, grandson, and uncle who loved the outdoors; including fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, and golfing. He will be missed by all. The family will have a private service this week. A public memorial service will be held in honor of Kurt at a later date.
