Obituary of Martha B. Kania

Martha B. Kania, a retired Kolmar employee and longtime resident of the area, passed away peacefully at home in Wurtsboro with her family by her side.  She was 92.

 

The daughter of the late John Rossano and Ethel Mendelsohn Rossano, she was born September 10, 1929 in Brooklyn.

 

A communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wurtsboro, Martha was also an avid knitter who made hats for everyone she knew.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Carolann Kania and Roseann Garcia; six grandchildren: Celeste, Ellide, Carole, Cliff, Jimmy and Roseanne; five great grandchildren: Salvatore, Sophia, Mya-Rose, Gabriel and Cliff; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son Michael; a granddaughter Samantha; two great grandsons Adam and Danny; a brother Frederick; and a sister Lee.

 

A memorial mass will be held at the St. Joseph’s Church in Wurtsboro at a later date.  Details to follow.
