Obituary of Chris Efthimian
Chris Efthimian of Smallwood passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at his home at the age of 74. The son of the late Kenneth Jay Walz and Jeanet Lequerique Walz, he was born May 25, 1947 in New York City.
Chris was a professional drummer, guitarist ad vocalist. At a very young age he was published on Capitol and Columbia Records with the bands Last Ritual and Chelsea Beige. The musicianship was ahead of its time. Chris made his way by driving taxi in New York City. Later in life he excelled in sales, first insurance, then advertising. He always played music on the side. Music was his first love…
He is survived by a brother: Kenneth G. Walz of Swan Lake; a sister: Arlene Watts of Middletown; nieces, Sabrina and Chelsea Walz, and Carly Moran; nephews, Kenny Walz, Frank Babrieki and Gerard (Roddy) Watts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel.
