Obituary of Frederick W. Fitzgerald

Frederick William Fitzgerald, "Mike", to those who knew and loved him, died on Friday, January 15, 2010 at his home in Kiamesha Lake, he was 60. The son of Francis Fitzgerald and Ewing Higinson Fitzgerald, Mike was born in Suffern, New York on March 18, 1949. A former self-employed truck driver, Mike spent his life between Rockland County, New York, the state of Georgia, and Sullivan County, New York. He will be remembered as an avid golfer and a man who loved to work diligently on puzzles in his spare time. He is survived by his wife, Amy Kathryn Brown Jones, of Monticello; his son, Michael Darcy, of Kingston; his brother, Ronald Fitzgerald, and his wife Kathy, of New Jersey; his sister, Candy Salerius, and her husband, Ben, of Texas; his niece, Marnie Torgersen, and her husband, Pete; his nephew, Chris; and 2 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Bruce Fitzgerald. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, from 11am-12pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, in Monticello. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00pm at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Pinto officiating.
