Janet Catherine Vitanza, a retired registered nurse, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at her home in Bloomingburg surrounded by her family.  She was 79.

 

The daughter of the late Joseph Beyerl and Claire Pfeifer Beyerl, she was born February 28, 1943 in Harrisburg, PA.  She was the widow of Richard Frank Vitanza.

 

She is survived by a daughter: Diane Vitanza; two sons: Richard A. Vitanza and Steven J. Vitanza; two grandchildren: Matthew Scott Vitanza and Nicole Leigh Vitanza; a brother: Richard Beyerl; two sisters: Lois Kobierski and Claire Karcher; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18 from 9:00 to 11:00am at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with a funeral service starting at 11:00am.  Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
