Obituary of Christopher M. McBride
Christopher Michael McBride of Mongaup Valley, NY passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 21, 2022. He was 37 years old.
The son of April Coney McBride and Michael McBride, he was born on July 11, 1984 in Middletown, NY.
He is survived by his mother April of Nashville, TN, together with his father Michael & his wife Mona of West Palm Beach, FL. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Kyle Hughes of Mongaup Valley, NY, and Brett Hughes (Hunter) of Champlain, NY; a sister; Renee Dzikowski (Daniel) of Hollidaysburg, PA and her family; and his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Coney of Mongaup Valley, NY. He is further survived by his aunts, Cindy VanArsdall (George) of Woodbourne, NY and Cheryl Fisher of Tamarac, FL, his uncles, Joseph McBride (Paula) of Homosassa, FL, Raymond McBride (Joan) of Port Jervis, NY and a special uncle; Ricky Cabrera (Sharon) of Seneca, SC.
Chris is also survived by several cousins, especially “the bootleg posse”; Jonathan Coney of Wurtsboro, NY, Ricky Cabrera, Jr., of Binghamton, NY, United States Navy Chief Petty Officer First Class Joey Cabrera (Jennifer) and family of Virginia Beach, VA; Randy Cabrera (Erica) and family of Lake Worth, FL Tiffany Cabrera and family of Monticello, NY; Kevin McBride, Christina McBride, Keyra McBride, Raymond McBride Jr. and Brian McBride and their families. He is further survived by great-aunts and his many friends, especially Katie Fenshaw of Lake Huntington, NY. He also leaves behind his constant companion, Sammi ….. Sam I Am. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Arthur L. Coney, Jr., (“PA”) his paternal grandparents, Harold (“PA”) and Rosemary McBride, his uncle Ricky Fisher, and his dog, Snowball.
Chris was a graduate of Monticello High School, Class of 2002 and attended community college. He took pride in being well-groomed and dressed, regardless of the occasion. He was well-read, kept up on current events, loved plants and animals, music, vanilla milkshakes and a good cheeseburger. He was so very proud of his brothers and sister and their accomplishments.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Messenger Cemetery, Southwoods Drive in Monticello.
