Obituary of Jerry Okwei Noye
Jerry Okwei Noye, of Monticello, NY, passed away on February 4, 2022 at the Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx at the age of 63. The son of the late Emmanuel Noye Nortey and Rebecca Okaikor Nortey, he was born on September 10, 1958 in Accra, Ghana.
Jerry graduated from Osu Salem Boys School in 1972 and Wesley Grammar Secondary School in 1977. He migrated to London in early 1984 where he received a certificate in Computer Programming. Later in 1984, he migrated again to America and settled in the Bronx, New York, then to Alexandria, Virginia. He later moved back to the Bronx, New York and changed his profession to Nursing. Jerry was devoted to his work. He made it his mission to care for the sick through his work as a nurse. He worked at Workmen’s Circle MultiCare Center in the Bronx until his sudden departure. His colleagues frequently expressed their admiration for his dedication and commitment to his profession. In his effort of being a continuous learner, he recently received training as an insurance broker.
Bra Jerry touched many lives, and made it a point to make all those he encountered feel so important and special. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need arise. Jerry unselfishly loved his children and supported them through their many endeavors.
Bra Jerry is survived by his wife, Prinscilla, at home; three children, Michael Nii Noye Nortey, Joshua Narku Noye and Britney Naa Shorme Noye; grandchildren, David Michael Kofi Nortey, Esther Victoria Akua Nortey, Keren Grace Akua Nortey and Onyx Noye; brothers and sisters, David Easmon Norte Nortey, George Jonathan Norteye Nortey, Mrs. Janet Norkor Gyan, Mr. Joseph Anang Nortey, Mrs. Eva Naa Oye Anka-Lufford, Mr. Philip Annum Nortey, and Ms. Diana Nortso Nortey.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 12:00 noon. Viewing will be from 11am to 12pm. Tribucast ive streaming will go live on or around 11:30 am.
