Obituary of Donald S. Price

Donald S. Price of Monticello, a retired longtime Town Clerk for the Town of Thompson, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris.  He was 74.

 

The son of the late Lester John Price and Florence Adelaide VanKeuren Price, he was born May 24, 1947 in Monticello and was the youngest of 10 children. 

 

Donnie was a devoted member of the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, as well as a member of the New York State Town Clerk’s Assoc.; the Orange–Sullivan Town Clerk’s Assoc.; the Town of Thompson Democratic Committee; and a former member of the Monticello American Legion Post 73.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam.

 

Donnie was a dedicated public servant who served his community proudly for many years.  He was known for his quirky sense of humor and his love of Bingo.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 

Donnie is survived by his two sisters: Carol Surerus (Kenneth Sr.) and Marilyn Taylor; daughter-in-law: Paula Peterson Price; ex-wife and good friend Love Conrad Price; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Jamie Price; siblings Violet “Toot” Calhoun, Arnold “Scoop” Price, Lester Price, Raymond Price, Thomas Price, Robert Price and Shirley Calhoun; and a niece: Sheryl “Sherri” Eggleston.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, 210 Katrina Falls Road in Rock Hill.  His funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 11am at the church with his good friend Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Messenger Cemetery in Monticello.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene.
