Obituary of Antoinette L. Santangelo

Please share a memory of Antoinette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Antoinette L. Santangelo, a resident of Monticello, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 59 years old.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Santangelo, she was born in Ozone Park on August 21, 1962, and later moved to Sullivan County in 2001 where she became an active member of the community.

She was a devoted and enthusiastic member of St Joseph's Catholic church in Wurtsboro, as well as the Ave Maria Guild. Additionally, she was an avid member of the Rock Hill Fire Department Auxiliary, and more recently of the Monticello Fire Department Auxiliary. She also was a member of the American Red Cross. She also worked for Thompson Sanitation in Rock Hill for 21 years as an Office Secretary.

Antoinette’s love and compassion for all of her friends and family will be her legacy, and this tragic loss will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son David Dunlap and his wife Jill, along with their children Katelyn, Lacy, and Grayson; and her daughter Victoria Sims and her husband Paul, along with their son Aiden.

A celebration of life will be held at Bernie’s Holiday Restaurant in Rock Hill, NY on Saturday,  February 5, 2022 from 1pm-3pm.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Monticello Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary or the St. Joseph's Church Ave Maria Guild.
