Message and photo from Kathleen White. I knew Joe like only a sister could. He was my Bro for 69 years. He had a way of calling me "Sis" that made me feel so loved and protected. He had a bear hug that wrapped around you that made you feel so warm and insulated from harm. His smile lit up the room and his laugh was so infectious and hilarious. It redirected you from any problems you were having at the time. Joe was not immune to problems of his own, but you would never know it because he kept such a great attitude all the time. A visit to his home was festive with his feast of a meal he would prepare for you that always had some kind of special touch to it. Anyone who knew Joe was touched by his love. But I had a special place in his heart that only a sister can steal. That's why a piece of me is missing so much right now and will only be filled when I see my Bro again. I'm thankful that you are out of your pain, Bro, but I miss you dearly, and look forward to the time that I will see you again. Until then, love you, Bro. Your sister, Kathy

Joseph Francis Boyle, Jr. 03/13/1952 - 12/31/2021. Just need to add a few photos and comments about my brother. There is so much to a life time, even when it is cut shorter then we anticipate. Joe will be remembered. Always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors, he also made time for his pet dogs and cats, made sure that his hummingbird feeders were full, and that there was enough seed out for the wild birds.
Joe and Mary not only raised six children, but along with their six, and many pets there were also goats, chickens, geese, turkeys, and even a pig at their Boyle Jersey Farm. Joe was an avid gardner and a builder of green houses. He was always building something. You can still find his bird houses hanging on trees from PA, NJ, NY, and even down in AL. In his younger years, he earned his pilot license and built his own airplane. He always managed to keep busy. Relaxing was hiking in the woods, kayaking, fishing, and hunting. Just like his dad, Joe was a TLC cook always ready to make something special and even better when it was something he caught or pickings from his garden. Course his meals turned out best when he was cooking for his loved ones.
Joe worked hard his whole life from his first jobs in a restaurant kitchen and at a gas station pump, to his many years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Then when the Yard closed he went back to college to get his degree in lab technology. We don’t realize how fast those years are passing until we look back, but Joe did get to retire and was able to slow down the past four years. Wasn’t quite long enough, but he did get to enjoy that recliner sitting in front of his fireplace with his loyal dog at his side. In his lifetime, Joey had many springs when he planted his seeds, and many summers to watch them grow, and many autumns to harvest. Winter was always the hardest, but this year he left before the cold set in—which is exactly how he would’ve planned it.

I am very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I remember all the fun times we had hanging around in woodlyn when we were younger. Joe was a crazy and funny guy. He will be missed.
