Obituary of Bernice M. Litterilla
Bernice M. Litterilla passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her home in Olivebridge, NY. She was 97.
The daughter of the late Valerian Malinowski and Julianna Lushefski Malinowski, she was born May 4, 1924 in Jamaica, Queens. She was the widow of Henry Litterilla.
Bernice was an amazing woman. She was not only a devoted Mother of five children but was always there for anyone who needed her. She was a caregiver to her mother, her sister, her son and Uncle Frank in their times of need. Early in her life she worked as a secretary and in retail sales and later in life she worked in childcare. She loved volunteering at St. Teresa’s Church Store near her home in Florida. She was always happy working in her garden and enjoyed nature. She loved the holidays and especially made Easter and Christmas special. She loved her Polish Babka and all sweet treats. She will truly be missed in this world, and we are blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years.
She is survived by her children: Diane Mues (Ed), Karen Bartoletti (Pete), Thomas Litterilla (deceased), Robert Litterilla (Mary) and Brian Litterilla (Kathy); her grandchildren: Billy Weronick, Douglas Weronick (Lisa), Cynthia Mink, Jeffery Weronick (deceased), Daniel Mues (Samantha), Melissa Lavin (Todd), Jason Silke (Liz), Kelley Bartoletti (Raymond), Jessica Bartoletti, Angela Litterilla, Jordan Litterilla (deceased), Shannon Hill (Stephen), Venetia Litterilla (Jay), Cory Litterilla (Erin), Anthony Litterilla and Shawn Litterilla; her great grandchildren: Evan Weronick (Maya), Ethan Weronick, Cassie Weronick (deceased), Christian Weronick, Lexie Weronick, Michael Mink (Monique), Anthony Mink, Andrew Weronick, Matthew Weronick, Sarah Lavin, Zachary Lavin, Sophia Lavin, Julianna Longo, Nicole Longo, Dylan Longo, Yvonne Silke and Megan Silke; and several nieces, nephews and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son: Thomas Joseph; grandsons Jordan Litterilla & Jeffery Weronick; great grandchild Cassie Weronick and her siblings: Frank Malin (Barbara), Stanly Malinowski (Anna), and Mary Grego (Vincent).
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 11:00am at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.
