Claude M. Messenger III, “Ne”, a retired employee of the Village of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at this home in Monticello.  He was 69.

 

The son of the late Claude M. Messenger Jr. and Mary Colo Messenger, he was born June 21, 1952 in Monticello.

 

Ne was also a harness horse owner/trainer, and was a member of Bear Paw Hunting Club, the Southwoods Motorcycle Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

 

He is survived by his wife: Janet Gilmour Messenger; three sons: Brian Messenger (Flo), Neil Messenger (Shannon) and John Messenger (Veronica); three stepchildren: Megan Gilmour (PJ), Kayla LaPolt, and Dominick DePrizio (Christine); fourteen grandchildren: Gary, Collin, Joshua, Violet, Alex, Mason, Preston, Alexander, Keira, Jeremiah, Emma, Gabriel, Isabella and Nicholas; a great grandson: Sage; a brother: Gary Messenger (Brenda); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Dylan.

 

Interment of his ashes will be held privately at the Messenger Cemetery, Southwoods, Monticello.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, 210 Katrina Falls Rd., Monticello, NY  12701.
