Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eileen “Patsy” Kern (nee Schmitt), age 83, passed Thursday, August 19, 2021 surrounded by family in Roscoe, New York.

Eileen was born on June 14, 1938 to Peter and Eileen in Queens, where she grew up with her brothers Peter, Robert, Micheal and John. She was a 1956 graduate of Stella Maris High School, where she enjoyed Debate team and excelled in Math. Eileen settled in Blue Point where she raised her six children, Peter, Dianne, Laura, Lisa, Nancy and Tom.

A devoted single mother, Eileen shared her joy for life by rendering all genres of music into playful operatic hymns. Beloved Grandma to Colleen, Jimmy, Deidre, Anthony, Sue Anne, Samantha, Christina, Amanda, Marina and Dean, Eileen moved to the Syosset-Oyster Bay area in 1986. She was a gifted portrait artist, competitive mahjong player, and crossword enthusiast. In 2016, Eileen moved to Manhattan with her daughter Laura, and enjoyed time in the Catskills area at Laura’s lake house. She is also survived by her cherished nieces, nephews, and eight great-grandchildren.

A self proclaimed “kidder,” Eileen will make her loved ones laugh for much time to come.
