Obituary of Rosella Ann McKane
Rosella A. McKane of Wurtsboro passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Middletown Park Manor. She was 91.
The daughter of the late Giovanni Silvani and Rosina Russo Silvani, she was born August 21,1929 in Hazleton, PA. She was the widow of Owen “Frank” McKane who predeceased her in 1998.
Rosella was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg, Site Manager in Mamakating for the Office for the Aging, and a cook for the Mt. Carmel Priory. She also enjoyed cooking for family, friends, and various functions at Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she was also a member of the Craft Circle.
She is survived by her six children: son Mark O. McKane of San Antonio, TX, son John K. McKane and his wife Sharon of New York, son Timothy F. McKane of Maine, son Peter G. McKane, and his wife Cheryl of Bradenton, FL and son Owen F. McKane III, and his wife Janie of Pine Bush; and a daughter, Jacqueline A. Bruinix and her husband Mark of Valley Center, CA. Rosella’s grandchildren include Daniel, Jackie, Shane, Mark, Joseph, Courtney, Anthony, Brendan, David, Rory, Zenandre, Johanna and Connor; her great grandchildren: Forrest, Kyle, Kevin, Kameron, Sarah, Anna, Julia, Rebekka, Lydia, Holly, Taylor, Amber, Jada, Alexis and Michael; great-great granddaughter: Sadie Young; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Owen, she was predeceased by a grandson, Michael; four brothers: Ralph Silvani, Victor Silvani, Peter Silvani, and Joseph Silvani; and a sister, Grace Tesoro.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19 from 5pm to 7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 20 at 11am at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 High Street in Bloomingburg with Fr. Nicholas Blackwell O. Carm officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
