Kelsader Myrtle Roache of Monticello, a retired nurses aide from Jamaica, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 76. The daughter of the late Charles Deweny and Iona Saunders, she was born December 20, 1932 in St. Thomas, Jamaica. She was the widow of Ralston Roache, who predeceased her on June 5, 2003. She is survived by a son: Anthony Matherson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; four daughters: Ivy McDonald and Lorraine Mais, both of Jamaica, Loretta Cameron of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Lelita Thompson of England; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Bishop Derrick Simms officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
