I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my oldest, childhood friend, Mattie. We were born the same year, lived across the street from one another, and were inseparable playmates on the streets of Fallsburg. Our friendship was color blind - as all relationships should be.
Life took us in different directions, and although we no longer saw one another on a daily basis, whenever we did get together we were still those two "town kids" laughing and talking non-stop.
Mattie will walk within me all the days of my life... until we meet again, my friend.
I send my heartfelt condolences to Shirley, Carmen, and all the family.
