Obituary of Louise M. Davis

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louise Davis, 73, born on May 8, 1948, and longtime resident of Sullivan County, departed this world to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Louise graduated from Monticello High School in 1966 and was later employed by the state of NY and worked for Sullivan County Office for the Aging as a Nutrition Site Manager in Monticello and So. Fallsburg Nutrition sites for over 35 years. She was faithful to her church at Bethlehem Temple where she served as Sunday School teacher, teaching Bible study to children, was Chairlady of the Foreign Missions Dept., member of the choir, and served on the Usher Board.

Louise also dedicated her life to her husband James E, Davis, whom she dearly loved, and her five children: Katrina and husband Gerald Pouncey, Samantha and companion Cecil Allen, James Jr and friend Petala, Sonique and husband Edwin Miller, and James II and friend Athena Hionis; her loving sister Linda and brother-in-law Button Thomas, who all survive her.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jermaine and wife Jessica, Devon and wife Shyann, Kiara, Terry, Jajuan, Jadon, Donovan and Cameron; her great grandchildren Hudson, Wynn, and baby to be Nailah; her mother-in-law Mildred Davis, five sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews all from Pinehurst North Carolina.  She was predeceased by her father Edward C. Hembridge, mother Lucille Bivins, grandmother Marie Harris, aunt Eleanor Wright, and her nephew Anthony Crawford (AKA Scoot/Darren); and a host of friends! All that knew her well loved her the most!

The family would like to thank all doctors, Westchester Medical Center, The Hospice Family, Pastors, Saints, and everyone who has helped our Beloved Louise Davis during her difficult time of life.
