Obituary of Katherine Jean Krier
Katherine Jean Krier (Jeanie) 72, passed away peacefully at the family home in Monticello, NY, on Tuesday April 27th after losing her fight with cancer. She was born to the late William and Audrey Kelly, April 23, 1949, in New York and graduated from Monticello High School.
She was married to the late Fred H. Krier, who passed away in July 2019. She is survived and mourned by one sister, Joanne Kelly of MN; 3 children; Jodi L. Young of NC, Kelly J. Wright, and Kory J. Krier of NY and their spouses; Richard Young, David Wright, & Katje Krier; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; and several cousins & nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Hadley and granddaughter Jessica L. Mann.
Jean retired from the Monticello Central School District. She loved her family, and enjoyed gardening. She always said, “It is what it is”...
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 14 from 500 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met. A limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home and face masks are required.
