Curtis Kaywood of Wurtsboro passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Middletown Park Manor.  He was 92.

 

The son of the late Frank Kaywood and Irene Hall Kaywood, he was born November 4, 1928 in Tuxedo. He was the widower of Mae Charlotte Kaywood who predeceased him in 2016.

 

Curtis was a veteran of the United States Army and went on to retire from Ford Motor Company.  He loved his instruments and all music.

 

He is survived by a son: Curtis Kaywood Jr.; a daughter: Suzanne Sands; a stepdaughter: Judith Sustack (Joseph); two stepsons: Steven Pogozelski (Theresa) and John Pogozelski; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother Roy.

 

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, April 28 from 10am to 12pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 noon.  Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home and facemasks are required. Burial with military honors will follow at the Monroe Community Cemetery in Monroe, NY.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to a veterans’ charity of one’s choice.
