Obituary of Veronica P. Schady

Veronica P. Schady of Bloomingburg, a retired clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Port Jervis, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown.  She was 71.

The daughter of the late Walter Dyczewski and Mary Jarakowski Dyczewski, she was born August 12, 1949 in Jersey City, NJ.

Veronica was a communicant of both St. Joseph’s Church in Wurtsboro and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and previously worked at Bradlees in Middletown.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Albert R. Schady, at home; a daughter: Doreen Thomson of Loch Sheldrake; a son: Daniel Schady of Bloomingburg; two grandchildren: Keri-lynn and Aidan; two brothers: Dennis & Edward; three sisters: Stella, Caroline and Debra; a brother-in-law: Patrick Schady & his wife Cindy; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 23 at 10:15am at St. Joseph’s Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wurtsboro.  Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home and at the church, and facemasks are required.
