Please share a memory of Ercole to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ercole “Eric” Alleva Sr., the previous owner of Seven X Motors in Mongaup Valley, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris. He was 72.

The son of Marie C. Mure Alleva and the late Edward H. Alleva, he was born October 2, 1948 in Brooklyn.

A well-known member of the community, Eric moved to the Catskills in the late 60's and established several businesses starting with Eric’s Autos where he started with a "hand crank" Tow Truck and later establishing Seven X Motors.

Eric always took pride in being family oriented. Desiree and Nicole could often be seen in the front seat of a tow truck alongside their dad. Eric took tremendous pride in his work and instilled this into all of his children. He had a generous heart, often taking a liking to his employees where he considered them more like part of the family, having even "adopted" one in particular (Anthony Bonfiligio) whom had since started "Seven X Enterprises" in Clearwater Florida. Along with Louis Rosenberg "Uncle Louie" who has no blood relation, however considered to be part of the family as well. As a testament to his character and loving nature, when Eric gave, he gave from the heart and would do anything for those he loved.

Eric was involved with the church and often donated to St. Peter’s in Liberty NY, St. Anne's church and his time was frequently donated to Catholic Charities in Monticello. He was always eager to help those who needed him. As a small business owner, he was happy to support other locally owned businesses and was a regular at the gym, Next Level Fitness (Fitness Factory), and could often be seen at Tilly's Diner.

Eric's accomplishments were vast and numerous. His personality was magnetic, with a warm presence, contagious smile a truly gentle soul.

He was the widower of Linda Vinje who is the mother of two of his children: Desiree Alleva Bull and Nicole Alleva Jones (husband Francis Jones), who survive. He is also survived by a son, Eric Alleva Jr. (wife Nicole Alleva) and a daughter, Faith Alleva, along with their mother Terri Layton; stepchildren, Denis Layton Fessler and Bobby Layton, six grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Aldo, Edward, Vincenzo and Luca; his mother: Marie Alleva; a brother: Edward Alleva; four sisters: Patricia Scire Napoli, Mary Kay Pellegrino, June Morgan and Terry McLoughlin, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Rosemarie Alleva.
