Obituary of Dave Avery

David W. Avery, a former water operations specialist for the Village of Monticello water department, and lifelong resident of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 72.

Dave was born July 21, 1948 in Monticello, son of the late Cornelius J. Avery and Margaret Hulse Avery.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie Avery; two daughters: Robyn Smith (Chris) and Brenda Avery (Justin); the lights of his life, his two grandsons Christopher and Landyn; brother Neil and sister-in-law Elaine as well as many special nieces, nephews,  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Ruth and Marjorie Price.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home, and facemasks are required. Interment of his ashes will be held at the Budd cemetery in Monticello at a later date.
