Obituary of Yvonne Caradec

Yvonne Caradec of Wurtsboro Hills, a retired medical billing clerk, passed away on New Year’s Day, 2021 at her granddaughter’s home in Wurtsboro surrounded by her family.  She was 98.

The daughter of the late Emile Yven and Raymonde Mingot Yven, she was born June 28, 1922 in New York City.  She was the widow of Andre Caradec who predeceased her on November 25, 2013.

Yvonne is survived by a son: Raymond Caradec; three grandchildren: Henry Sherman (Erin) of Texas, Glenne Sherman (David) of Wurtsboro, and Christopher Caradec (Mindy) of PA; four great grandchildren: Ryan Fuller, Brittany Fuller, Sophia Gowans and Shelbie Sherman; great great grandchildren: RJ Fuller, Carson Fuller, Poppy Caradec and Colton Peabody, who is on the way.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her father and mother; daughter: Andrée Sherman; and a son-in-law Glenn Sherman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6th from 4 to 6pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro.  Due to our current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the funeral home, and facemasks are required.
