Obituary of Frank E. Taggart

Frank Edward Taggart of Monticello died Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center-Skilled Nursing Unit in Harris after a long illness. He was 72. The son of the late Andrew Taggart and Ida Avery Taggart, he was born August 27, 1937 in Monticello. An avid hunter, Frank was retired from the Sullivan County Department of Public Works and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Janet Stackhouse Taggart, at home; two daughters: Lori Benjamin & her husband Rich of Monticello and Kim Hogue & her husband Dan of Forestburgh; two grandchildren (his greatest joy): Danny & Jenna; three brothers: Andrew Taggart of Livingston Manor, George Taggart of Wilkes Barre, PA and James Taggart of Monticello; two sisters: Lenora Magie of Monticello and Agnes Rupp of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter: Ann Marie; and three brothers: Robert, Stanley and William Taggart. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26 from 10am to 12 noon at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at the St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
