Robert Charles “Bob” Long, of Monticello, a longtime service attendant for Combined Energy Services (Monticello), passed peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Garnet Health Care Medical Center in Harris.  He was 77.

 

The son of the late Robert Charles Long and Charlotte Tompkins Long, he was born June 13, 1943 in Newburgh.

 

Those who loved Robert dearly will always recall his charm, wit, humor, grace, and unwavering love for all of whom he’s crossed paths with. His extraordinary appreciation for life was evident in the way he carried himself. There was never a single moment of Robert’s life taken for granted. 

 

Robert is survived by his longtime life partner: Suzanne McMahon of Monticello; his children: Patricia (Edward) Banahan of Youngstown, OH, Violet (Daniel) Haas of Youngstown, OH, Robert Long of Marlboro, Jonathan Long of Newburgh, Timothy Long of Shavertown, PA, Christopher (Chelsea) Long of Asheville, NC, and Michael Long of Shavertown, PA; five stepchildren, especially Sean McMahon of Monticello; and many siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Long; and a grandson, Daniel Hass.
