Obituary of Sherry D. Pace

Please share a memory of Sherry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

In loving memory of Sherry Denise Pace, born on September 12, 1963 in Trenton, NJ, and left us to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2020.  She was 57 years old.

Sherry attended school in Monticello. She then moved to Germany and married Michael Cross and gave birth to their first child Ebony Cross (McKoy).  Sherry returned to Monticello where she took on different career opportunities, her most important job being a counselor, helping people struggling through drug addictions.  Sherry was very proud of herself for being clean and sober for 11 years. She was a person who cared about others and their struggle through life; and always was there for anyone, and willing to lend a helping hand, wherever and whenever she could.  Sherry was a loving partner to Johnny Davis and a loving mother to her three children (EC, DD and JD), and doted on her four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father Willie Lee Pace, a sister Robin Pruden, and a niece Sha’Cara Whitehead.

She leaves to grieve, her mother Alma Jean Greene; her two daughters Ebony McKoy & her husband Fabian McKoy, and Desiree Davis; two sons Johnny Davis Jr. And Eric Davis; four grandchildren Aryana McKoy, Rahmell Harris, Jasai Davis and Legend Davis; her longtime companion Johnny Davis Sr.; three sisters Wanda Pace, Alice Simmons and Kizzy Greene; four brothers Lee Willie Pace, Clayton Zackery, Michael Pace and Scott Pace; and a whole lot of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11 from 11am to 12pm at the First Baptist Church, 28 Liberty Street in Monticello.  Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the church, and face masks are required.    A private service for the family will follow the visitation and burial will be held at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello NY; for additional information or to send an online condolence, please visit www.kennyfuneralhome.com
