Jonathan Evans of Natick, Mass., a retired real estate agent, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 after a hard fought and brave battle with cancer.  He was 75.

 

The son of the late Carl Evans and Dorothy Wilkins Evans, he was born August 4, 1945 in Memphis, TN. 

 

Jon was an avid golfer from his early teenage years, competing in tournaments up to the state level. Jon’s other passion was Southern Gospel music. He composed, sang, and performed at various community events alongside his good friend, Pastor Mark Ellis, forming the musical duo The Praise Brothers.

 

He is survived by his partner: Veronica Fernandes of Natick, MA; children: Jeremy Evans & his wife Melissa of Winchester, NH and Christine Evans of Morrison, CO; five grandchildren: Cody  Katie) Evans, Hadley Heng, Amelia Jane Heng, Amity (Austin) Levasseur and Abigail Martin; two great grandsons: Jaxson and Cameron; a brother Ira (Sheila) Evans of Lake Worth, FL; a sister Martha (Dean) Osborne of Hillsboro, OR; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children: Virginia Evans.

 

A memorial service will be held in the Spring. Memorial contributions can be made to The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. www.jimmyfund.org
