Dolores M. “Toodles” Bonpietro of Phillipsport, a retired pharmacy technician from Saddle Brook, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was 87.

 

The daughter of the late Grover Clarence King and Jeanette Suttle King, Dolores was born February 15, 1933 in Newport News, VA. She graduated from Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, NJ in 1950. She married the love of her life, Daniel Bonpietro Sr, on 4/19/1952 and they had 8 children. He preceded her in death in 1992. Dolores devoted most of her life to raising and loving her children and grandchildren.

 

Dolores was a volunteer for the Saddle Brook Ambulance Corp and Bergen Regional Medical Center for a number of years. She also worked for CVS before retiring and devoting her time to family and travel. Dolores was a lifelong member of the Catholic church, serving as a catechist at St. Francis de Sales of Lodi, NJ and as a member of the choir at St. Joseph’s of Wurtsboro, NY.

 

She is survived by her children: Daniel Bonpietro Jr and partner Maggie Mazzetti, Sharon Bonpietro Manzo and husband David Manzo, Eileen Bonpietro Chvasta and husband Robert Chvasta, Robert Bonpietro and partner Patricia Heaney, Diane and Vincent Scriveri, Carolyn Bonpietro Morse and husband Robert Morse, Steven Bonpietro and wife Maryann Bonpietro, and Dennis Bonpietro; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild

 

We would like to thank all the wonderful employees of Hospice who cared for Dolores for the past 1 and 1/2 years, especially Brandi, Jessica, Jaime, Melanie, and Katie.

 

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, NY with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the church, and facemasks are required. Private interment of her ashes will follow at the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Lodi, NJ.
