Vidii Kai Kii Tu

January 7, 1919 – July 03, 2020

Long Eddy, NY

Princess Vidii was born in St Thomas Virgin Islands to  Herman Lorrand and Palmyra Lorrand, and was the eldest of four sisters. Her family moved to Harlem, New York where she and her sisters attended school. Vidii was the perfect role model for her sisters and was very protective of them. The sisters were raised by their mother to be best friends and remained that way all of their lives.

Vidii Kai Kii loved the performing arts and was very talented. She was a gifted and accomplished Soprano and sang in her temple’s choir. She often sang as a young woman in her community of New York City, on different occasions. Vidii and her sisters grew up singing together in perfect harmony and often sang publicly. She was also an excellent dancer. She danced in a Harlem dance ensemble where she was paired with a young man that was to be her future husband, the love of her life, her soul mate. The couple toured with the group and danced together apart from the group.

Vidii Kai Kii and her husband moved to Amityville Long Island from New York City, where they raised their children. While living in Amityville she joined the Eastern Stars and was also an active member of the community. Vidii spent time with the neighborhood children, is loved and fondly remembered by them until this day.

Vidii Kai Kii and her family moved from Amityville to Long Eddy New York in December of 1970. She worked at Delaware Valley Job Corps as a Residential Advisor. She was loved by the residents on and off her dorm.

Vidii was known for her quick wit and good sense of humor, and had the ability to make people laugh. She was a people person with a giving heart and loved children and nature.

Vidii Kai Kii was a caregiver to many children in her family as well as the children of friends in and out of the neighborhood. She made people feel loved and cared about and was a generous individual. For Prs. Vidii what you saw was what you got. She was petite in stature but the little lady could transform into a giant warrior. She would fight for what she believed in and the people she loved, and would win!

Prs. Vidii Kai Kii was a devoted and active member of Beth Elion Temple in Cochecton New York.
