Hattie May Gonsowski of Wurtsboro, a retired school bus driver and lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 72. The daughter of the late John Coon and Mary Ingrid Coon, she was born November 20, 1947 in Summitvile. She is survived by her husband: Walter Gonsowski; two daughters: Carmella Schoonmaker and Mary Martinez; six grandchildren: Walter, Jonathan, Samantha, Jose, Miguel and Vanessa; six great grandchildren; three brothers: Vernon, John and Harry Newhall; a sister: Ruth Moran; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Cathy Hutchison. Due to our current health crisis, her funeral service and burial will be held privately for the immediate family. Burial will be held at the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport. Memorial contributions made to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
