Roger L. Bradshaw passed to the other side August 30, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh at the young age of 51. He was retired from Yellow Transportation where he was a dockworker for twenty years. The son of the late Reggie Bradshaw and Eula Virginia Shoemaker Bradshaw, he was born in Portsmouth, VA on July 25, 1958. He is survived by his loving wife, and best friend of 30 years, Denise; his sons: Jory and Dustin whom he was especially proud of; his special girl: Kristin Hackett; and his little buddy Alfie; all of whom he cherished. He is also survived by his sisters: Kathy and Debbie; and his brothers: Danny and Harold; all of Kingsport, TN; as well a many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved mother-in-law and friend: Ethel Lieberman, who he loved very much. A family statement is as follows: Roger had a thrill and zest for life whether it be spending time with family and friends, watching NASCAR races on TV or just savoring each and every day of life in the face of a terminal illness. He was a special man with whom no one can compare. His will, strength, sense of humor, tenacity and desire to survive was to be admired and modeled after. His family would like to express their thanks to our extended family and friends for their love, kindness and support through these trying times. Dr. Robert Dinsmore and Dr. John Ferguson for the ability to see and treat Roger more as a friend than a patient. Your care and concern was unrelenting and you will always have a special place in our family and in our hearts. To Christa Clark for the months of the care and affection you showed Roger. To the staff at Kaplan, thank you for the support care, and above all else the dignity you gave to Roger in his final days. Thank you. To all at the Tucker Center at Horton Campus for the many times you have cared for Roger. You are the best group of people ever. Thank You. To Scott Inverarity, Kerry Milano, Hilda Castillo, Judy McLaughlin and Roy Millspaugh for being there for Roger and the family. We had fun. He was truly appreciative of the many special times he shared with you. To all the faculty, staff and students at Goshen High School who have crossed our path, your constant support, goodwill and love will be treasured forever. Roger was always thankful to have all of you in his life. At this time the family would like all to celebrate Roger's life and not mourn his death. Therefore there will be no visitation and arrangements will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Denise Bradshaw and can be mailed to VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 283, Wurtsboro, NY 12790. The family will disburse these donations to charities that Roger supported throughout his life. Thank you to all who have touched his life! May God Bless you all!
