Dear Unc,
I can't believe that you are no longer here with us. Who is going to be here to keep everyone in line? Collect the tithes and offerings? Ensure that everyone in the prayer line has their forehead slathered with oil? Prevent the kids from running in Gods house? Only you Unc. You had a silent warrior status, while others were playing you were praying. You NEVER required the spotlight, always willing to play the background so that God could get the glory. That was the type of man you were. I'm going to miss your witty comebacks, your wealth of knowledge and your gentle hero demeanor that you wore like a badge of honor. You saw/shared things with me that I couldn't yet see in myself. Your encouraging words, your quiet nudge, your prayers ...helped mold me into the person I am today. The family reunions and church barbecues wont ever be the same without your presence, besides who is going to be there to sample everything first. Only you Unc. All of these wonderful and funny things are what made you special, made you .... YOU. I miss you so much but it would be selfish of me to want to keep you here. You are in the bosom of the Lord now... no more hurt, no more pain, no more disappointment. God needed a prayer vigilante in heaven so he decided to call you home to fill that job. " Everybody needs a job" (Your infamous line) You can rest now Unc. Thy good and faithful servant. Praise him all you want to ... your safe in his arms...I love you.....Your Niece Christina

Daddy I love you and I will miss you.
Your sense of humor and your love for music. I thank God for you and your relationship with the "Master" as you affectionately called him. Rest on Daddy.
