Frank Salvatore Poerio, a retired senior vice president for Knowmark Manufacturing Company in Brooklyn, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at his home in Wurtsboro Hills. He was 92.The son of the late Andrea Poerio and Giuseppina Misiana Poerio, he was born February 23, 1917 in Brooklyn.Mr. Poerio was an avid pigeon flyer and golfer, and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wurtsboro.He is survived by his wife: Hildegard Hale Poerio, at home; two sons: Andrew Poerio & his wife Jerilyn of Mastic and Michael Poerio & his wife Madeline of Davie, FL; seven grandchildren: Frank, Joseph, Andrea, Lorri, Penelope, Donna and Andrew; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro on Sunday, August 2 from 4 -7pm and on Monday, August 3 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Tuesday, August 4 from 9:00 to 10:30am. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 at St. Joseph's Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
