Obituary of Eugene Maddux Jr.

All of Monticello feels the loss of one its most loved and known residents - Eugene Maddux, Jr. Born to Eugene Maddux, Sr. and Arnita Maddux of Harlem, NY on December 11, 1957, Eugene was a hard worker who loved his children supremely. His sweet demeanor and willingness to offer a helping hand made him a loved figure in town. He's known by those closest to him as a talented pianist and guitarist, and remembered most fondly singing his favorite song, Always and Forever. On Wednesday, June 10, 2009, Eugene passed on to continue his journey on a path of peace and love. He was 51. He leaves behind his wife, Tanja Maddux of North Charleston, SC, as well as four children: Jason Dwan Watkins, of Monticello, Eugene Isaiah Maddux, III and daughter-in-law, Bell Maddux of Pine Bush, Erica Faith Maddux of Columbia, SC, Juliette LaAsia Harvin of Tampa, FL and Marcus Seabrook of New York City. He has five grandchildren: Savannah Maddux, Bianca, Marcus, Daniel and Sumayah Watkins, all of Monticello. Also two sisters, Rena Maddux and Rhanda Maddux of New York City; one brother and best friend, Warren Dumas of Monticello; three aunts and two uncles from New York City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be held at VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello, on Thursday, June 18, at 1 p.m.
