Obituary of Lester G. Price

Lester G. Price, a retired equipment operator for the Town of Thompson, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his home in Monticello surrounded by his family. He was 81.The son of the late Lester Price and Florence VanKeuren Price, he was born March 11, 1928 in Monticello.Les was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and a member of the NRA and Squirrel's Den Hunting Camp.He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Ella Messenger Price, at home; two sons: Vince Price & his wife Glenna of Monticello, and Russell Price of Clinton Township, MI; two daughters: Karen Titus of Monticello and Kandi Hoyt & her husband Michael of Rock Hill; ten grandchildren: Jim (Nancy), Cathy (Tim), LeeAnn (Chris), Crystal, Chris, Craig, Casey, Alyssa, Brittany and MichaeleAnn; six great grandchildren: Caitlyn, Courtney, Timmy, Devyn, Aydan and Dylan; three brothers: Robert, Raymond and Donald Price; four sisters: Violet "Toot" Calhoun, Shirley Calhoun, Carol Surerus and Marilyn Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Arnold "Scoop" Price and Richard "Tom" Price; and a son-in-law: Wally Titus.Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
