Hattie Edwards of Wurtsboro, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 80. The daughter of the late Charles H. Scott and Amelia Crawford Scott, she was born July 23, 1932 in Phillipsport. A member of the Mamakating Moose Lodge, Hattie was well known in Wurtsboro for strolling up and down Sullivan Street. She is survived by a son: James Edwards & his wife Paula of Wurtsboro; two daughters: Loretta Lamanto & her husband Tom of Monticello, and Jeanette Edwards of Middletown; six grandchildren: David, Michael, Johnathan, Diane, Michele and Carrie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Bonnie, two brothers Charles and Ralph, and a sister Ruth. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, December 14 from 9-11am at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Burial will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery in Grahamsville. Memorial contributions made to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
