Elias Cabrera Rodriguez, 65 May 14, 1943-April 15, 2009 Monticello, NY Elias Cabrera Rodriguez of Monticello passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, with his family by his side. He was 65. Born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, Elias moved to the United States at a young age where he served in the U.S. Military. He was a life long businessman in Monticello, the former owner of the Exxon Station in Kiamesha Lake & Cabrera's Auto Repair at the Landfield & East Broadway locations. He was well known & liked by the community and would always give anyone a break at his shops. Elias had a heart of gold unlike any other. He loved to go for rides in his car around town & loved having his family around him. He is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. The son of Isabel Rodriguez & the late Antonio Cabrera, he is survived by his wife, Maria Ramos; 2 step-sons, Peter & Percy Ramos; step-daughter, Roxanna Castillo all of whom he accepted to love unconditionally since they were young, over 27 years, & remain together in spirit. He is also leaves behind his sons, Elliot Cabrera (Kim), Steven Cabrera (Karen), and Anthony Cabrera (Charity); daughter, Lila Hendricks (Rick); his brothers Carmelo Cabrera Rodriguez (Luz), Julio Cabrera (Arlene), Samuel Cabrera Rodriguez (Juanita), Miguel Cabrera Rodriguez (Joan); sisters, Ana Perez (Jaime Perez), Sarahi Kret (Ron), Brunilda Morales (Victor), and his 19 grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 18 from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in Juncos, Puerto Rico & burial in the La Immaculada Concepcion Cemetery in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
