Obituary of James D. O'Leary

James Daniel O'Leary of Wurtsboro, a former truck driver for Kerhonkson Tire, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home in Middletown. He was 78. The son of the late James O'Leary and Isabel Jackson O'Leary, he was born February 15, 1934 in St. John, Maine. A member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, James was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Lockwood O'Leary, at home; a son: James H. O'Leary & his wife Angela of Gardiner, Maine; a daughter: Deborah White of Monticello; five grandchildren: Travis, Jessica, Mike (Jody), Kim and Bruce; six great grandchildren: Keara, Yasmin, Donovan, Donte, Trystin and Aidan; three sisters: Marjorie McBreairty and Helen McBreairty of New Milford, CT, and Mary Anne Jackson & her husband Joseph of North Anson, ME; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Joseph Herbert, David Edward and Glenn Murray; and one sister: Ella Groll Campbell. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, December 14 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A prayer service will be held at some time during the visitation. Interment of his ashes will be held at a later date at the New Milford Center Cemetery in New Milford, CT.
