Louise Verdi Collins of Monticello died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Achieve Nursing & Rehab Facility in Liberty. She was 98 years old.The daughter of the late Luigi Verdi and Maria Catrinella Verdi, she was born January 1, 1911 in Bari, Italy. Ms. Collins was the former owner of ABC Engraving Co. in New York City.She is survived by a son: Peter Catalano & his wife Nancy of Monticello; a sister: Theresa Verdi Kenney of Monticello; three grandchildren: James Catalano & his wife Tracey of Hurley, Robert Catalano & his wife Andrea of Colorado Springs, CO and Christine Catalano of Westchester County, NY; and two great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Luca.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
